Celebration of Life Invitations

Celebration of life invitations, handled gently

A quiet, considered invitation for each guest, sent by private link, with every reply gathered in one place so the family can plan the day.

A celebration of life honors someone who has died with stories, music and the company of the people who loved them, usually held weeks or months after the funeral, and gentler in register than a formal service. HeyVite helps the family send a considered invitation to each guest, gather replies quietly, and plan the reception without chasing anyone.

Made for celebrations of life

Everything a celebration of life needs, from the first invitation to the final head count.

A private invitation, handled with care

Each guest receives their own private link. HeyVite delivers it by email, or you share it yourself by text or WhatsApp. There is no public event page and no shared guest list, so nothing about the gathering, or who is coming, is visible to anyone but you.

Replies that help you plan the reception

Guests reply through their link with no account needed, and the head count, dietary notes and plus-ones settle onto one quiet dashboard, so the caterer, the room and the seating can be arranged with certainty. If the reply-by date passes, one click sends a gentle reminder, only to those who have not answered, and only when you choose.

Space for memories and stories

Add your own questions to the reply: a memory of them you would like shared, a story you would be willing to read aloud, a song they loved. Each answer arrives beside the guest's name, ready for the program, the speakers and the playlist.

A shared album of their life

After the gathering, guests add photographs: of the day, and of the years before it. You curate what stays, and family who could not travel can sit with the album from wherever they are.

Popular celebration of life designs

HeyVite does not yet have a dedicated memorial collection, so this page draws on the quietest designs in the catalogue: museum florals and still lifes from the anniversary shelf, Monet's lily pond and Whistler's nocturne among them. The sample names and sentiments on the previews come from that collection; every line is yours to rewrite before anything is sent.

Your celebration of life guest list stays private

With HeyVite, each guest opens an invitation of their own, addressed to them alone. Who said yes, who sent regrets, who else is invited: only you, the host, hold the full picture.

Frequently asked questions

Answers about celebration of life invitations and online RSVP on HeyVite.

What is the difference between a celebration of life, a funeral and a memorial service?

A funeral is the formal service held soon after a death, usually with the burial or cremation. A memorial service is similar in structure but held without the casket present, often a little later. A celebration of life is the least formal of the three: it usually takes place weeks or months afterwards, and centers on the person's life (stories, music, photographs and a shared meal) rather than on the rites of mourning.

When should celebration of life invitations be sent?

Three to four weeks before the gathering. Because a celebration of life is often held one to three months after the death, there is usually time to choose a date that lets faraway family travel. Ask for replies about two weeks before the day, so the reception can be planned without pressing anyone.

How do guests reply?

Each guest opens their own private link and replies there: no account, no app, no password. Their answer, any dietary notes and a message for the family arrive on your dashboard quietly. If someone has not replied as the date nears, you can send a single gentle reminder in one click; nothing is ever sent unless you choose to send it.

Can guests share memories or photographs?

Yes, both. Add a question to the reply ("a memory of Eleanor you would like shared," or "a story you would be willing to read aloud") and the answers gather beside each guest's name for the program. The shared photo album collects photographs of the day and of the person's life; guests add what they have, and you curate what stays.

Can family members share the arranging?

Yes. Add a sibling or close friend as a co-host and they see the same guest list and replies, and can manage the guests, the RSVPs and the sign-up lists with you. A sign-up list is a kind way to let people bring food for the reception. Sending the invitations stays with the host, so nothing goes out twice.

Is HeyVite free to use for a celebration of life?

Yes. Every design and every feature (the photo album, custom questions and co-hosts included) is free on every plan, and the free plan covers up to 75 guests. A larger gathering takes a single payment for this one event ($15 for up to 150 guests, $45 for up to 300 and $110 for up to 900), with no subscription and nothing recurring.
